...can make my eyes tear up. Big scaredy cat!
I took a trip into Seattle yesterday for the NW Fabric and Notions Show. I was a bit apprehensive about going, I've got a Trunk Show coming up this week that I am preparing for and I just hate to take a day off from the studio right now. But, let me tell you, it was well worth it!
My sister decided to come with me at the last minute, and that turned out to be a blessing. There were a few moments that would have been a bit nerve-wracking if I had been by myself. One of those being when the half-crazed, drives-like-a-maniac Taxi Driver dropped us off in the 'hood'. Without a clue about how to get to the main entrance to the Seattle Center where the exhibitors were, we wandered around a very deserted area before we figured out where we needed to be. If I'd have been alone, I think I would have just stood there and cried 'Mommy'!!
Once we got into the show and registered, oh my, fabric heaven. A fantastic selection of the top fabric designers that I love with the newest, hottest designs. I'm really excited about the fabrics that I ordered, and when I came home last night I couldn't wait to get on the internet and look at them again, and it just made me even more excited and happy.
It was a beautiful Northwest day. Sunny, cloudy, threatening rain, windy. On the way over we were stopped at the Hood Canal Floating Bridge to allow a Naval Submarine to pass through.
Our ferry ride was escorted by the Coast Guard patrol boats. Thanks guys for keeping our country safe!
It's been awhile since I had been on a Washington State Ferry, but I thought they had newer ferries. These all looked pretty old and rusty to me, where do they hide the newer ones? or are these the 'newer' ones that I remember but just older and tireder? (I know 'tireder' isn't a word, but you know what I mean).
